Which category of membership are you applying for?

The Trust has been formed for the public benefit of the Community of Govan as defined by the boundaries of Govan Community Council and Govan East Community Council as shown on the map below:

There is no fee to become a member of the Trust.  Membership is open to any individual or group who support the aims of the Trust and submits an application for membership.  There are 3 different classes of Membership as outlined below:

 

Ordinary Members: those Individuals aged 16 and over who: (a) live in the Community; (b) are entitled to vote at a local government election and (c) support the purposes of the organisation.  Ordinary Members have the right to attend the AGM and have important powers under the constitution.  Ordinary Members can become Trustees of the organisation.

 

Associate Members: those: a) Individuals who are not eligible to vote in a local government election in a polling district that includes the Community or part of it and b) Groups wherever located who support the purposes. Associate Members are not eligible to stand for election to the Board nor to vote at any meeting.

 

Junior Members: those Individuals who: a) are aged between 12 and 15 and b) support the Purposes. Junior Members are not eligible to become a Charity Trustee by any means nor to vote at any meeting.
